About Me

Hi you guys! I’m Shawn Nikole, and I’m glad you’re here. I’m a self-published author, poet, mentor, speaker, wife, mother, praise dancer, and social worker who is also a survivor of things many people never talk about out loud: suicide attempts, abuse, depression, anxiety, addiction, divorce, and seasons where life felt heavier than hope. I've overcome choices and circumstances that once felt like they defined me and I've learned that healing, purpose, and restoration are possible.

Pick Up Your Crown was born from those places.

Not from perfection.

Not from having it all together.

But from the quiet, sometimes messy, sometimes painful realization that even when everything feels broken, your crown your worth, your strength, your purpose was never taken from you.

This space was created especially for women and young girls navigating pain, identity, healing, and purpose but it’s open to anyone who has ever felt unseen, unheard, or unsure of their value. No matter where you’re from, what you’ve done, or what’s been done to you, you belong here.

Pick Up Your Crown is both a brand and a ministry, created to encourage, strengthen, and equip through:

·       Faith-centered (and universally applicable) books and written reflections

·       Apparel and merchandise with meaning

·       Honest blog posts and storytelling

·       Conversations rooted in healing, restoration, and purpose

This is a place where healing is not rushed, where your story is handled with care, and where real talk sometimes raw, sometimes messy is welcomed alongside hope, restoration, and direction.

I published my first book under my full name, Shawnetta N. Murray, and it is available online through Amazon and Barnes & Noble. For those who prefer a more personal connection, autographed copies are also available for purchase directly through this website.

As this work has grown, I now share this message publicly as Shawn Nikole a name that reflects both who I am and who I’ve become. The name may have evolved, but the message has not.

Pick Up Your Crown speaks to the King and Queen within us all the part of you that may have been silenced, wounded, or laid down just to survive, but was never destroyed. It’s a reminder that your life carries value, your voice matters, and you were created for purpose.

If you’ve ever felt like life knocked your crown to the ground…this is your invitation to pick it up.

Here, the crown isn’t about perfection or performance. It represents your identity, your calling, and the parts of you, life may have tried to bury but you were always meant to wear.

Picking up your crown means choosing to stand tall again. It means learning to heal, believe again, and walk forward as who you truly are head high, heart whole, and rooted in truth.

This isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about coming into the fullness of everything you were created to be.

Stay awhile. Get connected. What started as my story has become a place for yours and you are not alone here.
